STRIPES ARE NICE AND FINE, by Cara Cansler

Stripes: long narrow bands of a different color, composition, or texture from the surrounding surface or background.

Nice (adjective): pleasant or enjoyable. good-looking, pleasing to look at ex.) “what a nice hat you are wearing!”

Fine (adjective): very good to look at ex.)“a fine view of the valley” outstanding, far better than average, “a fine wine”  delicately formed, showing special skill, detail, or intricacy, especially in artistic work.  ex.) “a weaving with fine detail”, something of high quality.

 STRIPES ARE NICE AND FINE is a series of acrylic and ink on canvas, with emphasis on creating texture by such techniques as block printing, stamping, surface scratching and layering of color.
